WE'RE OLD RIVS. A GRASSROOTS SPORTS CLUB, BASED IN HORWICH & FORMED IN 2001
ABOUT US
The current incarnation of Old Rivingtonians Sports Club was formed in 2001. Originally known as Horwich RMI JFC, an enforced name change in 2021 provided us with a short term challenge, but which soon became a long term opportunity.
Steeped in local history, and at the centre of the Horwich community, Old Rivingtonians has enjoyed a number of historically successful sports teams over the years, with records of football teams dating back to the immediate post-war era in the early 1920s.
Our vision is to both continue and accelerate the Old Rivs heritage, firstly through our continued focus on community grassroots football, but also to introduce more sporting disciplines as the club continues to grow and progress.
We are a Two Star England Accredited club offering the opportunity for everyone in our local community of Horwich, Blackrod and the surrounding areas to play sports. With over 300 members (and counting) our teams range from U6s all the way through to open age for boys, girls, men and women. The club has over 20 years’ experience of providing a safe, rewarding and motivating environment for people of all ages to enjoy.
